Art As Advocacy: Promoting Equity and Social Justice for Women
In the 1970’s women found their voices in the arts and began to stake a claim to their place in a rapidly changing world. This exhibition features work from multiple artists that captures the spirit of these women and the women of today, forty years later, still seeking equity and social justice for women. My piece, Chrysalis, was inspired by the spunk and courage of the talented women artists—past and present—who believed their voice can be a transformative agent for society.
